| David Overell, operating as a sole practitioner, established the firm in
1984. David had previously worked for a short period in audit with
Touche Ross, in business advisory work with two smaller practices and
had been employed as a manager for two years with Arthur Andersen in
their “owner/operator businesses” section. |
In 2010, Gavin Weller became an equity partner in Overells, bringing to the firm over 20 years experience in the profession.
Overells operates in the tax and business advisory area, with less than
5% of revenue derived from the preparation of individual income tax
returns.
The firm focuses on providing services that will “make a difference” to its clients - to be much more than reactionary advisers. These include providing additional data to the client, including a flowchart of their structure, graphical analysis of their key financial indicators, and 5-year trend profit and loss statements. We pride ourselves on our availability, personal service, initiative, lack of jargon and holistic approach.

Overells has some significant clients, including two who were included on the BRW 1997 list of the 100 fastest growing private companies in Australia.
Our firm has been instrumental in the development of electronic document
management systems and has achieved national recognition in this
field. We have commercialised the systems successfully and they have
been adopted by more than 50 accounting practices and other businesses
from all over Australia. Our “paperless” environment is part of our
“green” corporate policy. |
