Most of our business decisions are made via our emails. So when you send a group e-mail, it's a pain that there's no common database that holds every message for all parties to revisit.
Now there is a free beta service, GrexIt.com, that works with Google Apps (such as Gmail for Business) to capture all e-mails and store them. There's a browser extension that works behind the scenes, or you can just add the firstname.lastname@example.org e-mail to your discussions from any computer. The idea is that, when you use GrexIt, you can then go back to the repository and view an archive of all e-mail discussions. You can also set rules to capture all e-mails for your business domain e-mail related to a topic, such as "business plan" or "accounting" and then view only those archived e-mails in a group.
Account features include:
- labels - when an email is sent, it can be allocated a label which sends all emails with that label to a group, outside of your inbox - which means no clutter!
- label filters - find emails assigned to certain people or jobs in seconds
- shared notes - can be created and seen by all members of the email group - a quick way to check the progress of jobs without having to read through whole emails
- task notifications - receive notifications for every task assigned to you, and jump straight to the email it refers to
All GrexIt features are available on Gmail, with certain features available on Outlook, iPhone, Android, Mail.app and more. They are working towards having all features available on all software.
