Learn Skills Online, In Your Own Time
Are you looking for ways to enhance your professional development? Lynda.com is an online service which provides training videos in the latest software, creative and business skills. It offers more than 140,000 tutorials in various areas, such as business management, leadership, marketing, web development, multimedia and design, just to list a few.
At Overells we use Lynda.com to enhance the software skills of our staff, as per our internal specialist register. We also use it for training in communication, time management, improving focus, leadership and critical thinking. If you're having trouble with your books, Lynda.com has a wide range of essential training for MYOB, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
Another great aspect is that it remembers your place in the course. For example, say you were midway through a tutorial and you had to leave to pick up the kids from school; Lynda.com will automatically save and will open up exactly where you left off. It also offers certificates for every course you complete. That way your skills can be recognised by a document of proof.
Queensland residents have been granted fee access to Lynda.com through the State Library of Queensland. The state-wide subscription allows all Queenslanders unlimited access to the online courses from any compatible desktop or portable device.
Follow the prompts at http://www.slq.qld.gov.au/search/eresources/lynda.com to become a member of the State Library of Queensland and create a Lynda.com profile to access free educational content.
